Champion Door crane doors are the only insulated single-door option on the market – Starka Betongelement impressed by Iisulation capabilities and easy usage

Champion Door operates all over the world. Their partner for the Swedish market is ConDoor Group AB and their Managing Partner David Laurell, who recently completed a Champion Door crane door project for Starka Betongelement AB, a Swedish concrete element manufacturer. The company uses overhead cranes to move large concrete elements in and out of their production facilities in Arboga, Sweden.

"We were looking for well-insulated, easy-to-use doors. The answer was Champion Door", says Project Manager Juha Pettersson.

Finding the most practical, well-functioning solutions for closing up craneway openings is not an easy task. In addition to having to be durable, easy-to-use, low-maintenance and cost-effective, craneway doors have to be suited for numerous functions as there are cranes, different vehicles as well as people going in and out of the building.

"Champion Door craneway doors are the only option where the customer receives an insulated single door. The other option would be to have a manual folding door that folds sideways in combination with a sectional overhead door above. Champion Door is the only supplier that provides an insulated fully automatic door combination for craneway openings", Laurell says.

Well-insulated doors help save on energy costs

In addition to being easily opened and closed, Champion Door doors also met Starka Betongelement’s needs regarding thermal insulation. Champion Door’s NK4 Warm has a U-value of 0.71 W / (m²K) and with additional insulation, it can reach a U-value of up to 0.57 W/( m²K). Good thermal insulation means that the doors keep out the cold or the heat and help save on energy costs by keeping the heated or cooled air in.

Laurell also notes that Champion Door fold-up doors are available in a variety of standard colors, making them easily adaptable to the building’s exterior. Starka Betongelement chose grey doors for their black-and-white building.

Champion Door produces “some of the best products in the world” while adapting to customer needs

ConDoor Group AB has been cooperating with Champion Door for 10 years. According to Laurell, the best part about Champion Door is that the company is big enough to be able to produce some of the best products in the world, yet small enough to be able to adapt to the needs of customers and to the changes taking place in their field. Laurell believes that the secret to a successful cooperation lies in maintaining a good dialogue between partners.

"We work in close contact with Champion Door’s production, which means that we are constantly aware of, for example, any changes made to the products. If I have any requirements or needs, production is eager to listen and adjust. We’re on a very pleasant journey together."
