ExecuJet MRO Services Malaysia has recently opened a brand-new hangar at the Subang Airport, formally known as the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The new hangar features a Champion Door NK2 Double fabric fold-up door measuring up to an incredible 140 meters in width. The extra-large hangar door consists of 8 door leaves, boasting qualities such durability, reliability and minimal need for maintenance.

“In our new hangar, we provide an array of maintenance services. The aircraft typically housed in our hangars are luxurious, privately-owned business jets. Our customers turn to our services for their high quality. This also sets certain requirements for the building and its functions, such as the doors. Our new, reliable Champion Door door plays an important part in properly facilitating our operations”, says Nicholas Tan, General Manager in Technical Services.

Top-level technical expertise

ExecuJet MRO Services initially explored the option of acquiring sliding doors for the new hangar. Due to their heaviness, difficulty of operating and the amount of floor space they require, the company decided to view other options. The search yielded the option of fabric fold-up doors and one of the few providers in the world to be able to manufacture them in the required size range: Champion Door. Champion Door fabric fold-up doors are lightweight, easy-to-use, durable and reliable. They do not require extra floor space, are resistant to weather conditions and have minimal need for maintenance. According to Tan, the doors’ overall efficiency was the most important decision criterion.
